Halloween Fun

Halloween is always fun for the boys. We have been talking about costumes for many months now. The boys were all cute and are pictured here with their Richards' Family female counter parts.

Derek decided to be the very creative, but realistic, "Pro Skater". I insisted that he at least wear knee pads with his regular everyday attire. He did give in and carried that dang skateboard all over 2 neighborhoods.

Carsen has been the MOST excited about dressing up. He actually had 2 costumes. One very scary grim reaper type for his school party and the infamous "Captain Jack Sparrow" for his real night time trick-or-treating. He doesn't have the sensory issues that his older brother has and let his Dad make him a mustache. He wore the dread locks until they itched his chin to death and boot covers until they fell down for the 100th time. He was a very good pirate. While trick or treating this pirate told one lady, "Trick or Treat, smell my feet. If you don't I pull down your underwear." She was quite surprised as was I and we apologized and quickly moved on to the next house.

Jake was a more innocent pirate, looking more like Mr. Smeed than a real pirate. He literally ran up and down the streets of your neighborhood collecting candy in both hands. If he didn't like what the people were handing out, he dug his little had right into their bowl to get what he wanted. He wasn't tired for blocks.

All the boys crashed after filling up their bags in our neighborhood and Nana and Grumpaw's hood too. Nana thought that Carsen wouldn't sleep after a trip to their neighborhood haunted house, but no nightmares (at least at our house I can't speak for Nana). The next morning they ALL slept in and that is when I realized that my birthday is on a good day after all.
