Are We There Yet?

Although no one ever said it, we all thought it.

Our road trip began Thursday, when Robyn and I headed downtown to pick up Randi from work about 1:00 pm. We jumped on to I-10 and headed West.

We laughed and talked all the way to Indio where we stopped for a potty break at a brand new Marshalls. Of course while we were there, we had to look around a little bit and buy a couple items, but again we headed West.

We drove to the Cabazon Outlets and again had to go potty... and shop. This was Coach stop #1.

As we headed toward our luxurious hotel for the night, we passed a Bob's Big Boy. Robyn did a quick U-turn and we ate yummy cheeseburgers for dinner. It was fun to reminisce about going to the Bob's on Northern when we were growing up.

We were so happy to arrive at our hotel at 10:30 pm that we all crashed. The next morning it set in that we had stayed in a less than standard hotel, but we were only there long enough to rest up for more shopping and more driving.

We found Ryan's family's favorite Oxnard donut shop and stocked up on treats for the girls. We spent a few hours shopping, Coach stop #2.

Once we stuffed more bags into the back of the car, we headed to Carpenteria to pick up the best Banana Cream Pie ever.

It was then we realized we were so close to Santa Barbara and one more Coach Factory Store. We had to stop by...

We finally made it to Arroyo Grande around 6pm.

Where we were greeted by the 3 cutest girls in California.

Michelle and the girls took us on a tour of their awesome new house...

that overlooks the pacific ocean....

They had put together the cutest little basket of bathroom stuff to make our stay comfortable and perfect!

We had the best 24 hours reading, playing, shopping, eating, driving around the village and just being together. We love those girls and their parents so much!!

We hated to leave.

Exactly 24 hours after we arrived, we got back into the car and drove another 5 hours down to Temecula. On the way we made a very quick trip into the Coach Factory Store to look for one specific item (Coach stop #4).

After that stop, we made it to a beautiful, brand new Holiday Inn Express. We were exhausted, but knew we could finally sleep in.

Um wait...no. The stinking fire alarm went off at 6:00 AM. The entire hotel had to evacuate while we all stood outside and waited...in our pajamas (Randi was donning all of our wedding rings and purses...since she would not leave the room with out rings, Coach bags & cell phones...ya know, the important stuff!!).

(side note: we were SO glad that we slept IN pj's...others were NOT as fortunate!!)

We were so shocked to wake up so unexpectedly by the loudest fire alarm ever!! So eventually we were let back inside and we tried to sleep a bit more before we had to get up and go to Anthony's niece's baby shower.

I was able to spend a few hours with my other family at the baby shower, until the little white SUV arrived and picked me back up to head 6 hours home! (of course...after 1 final stop at Coach).

Yes, that is 1200 miles, in 75 hours, 3 different beds & 5 stops at Coach.

I love my sisters so much. I am so thankful that we were able to talk and laugh for 3 days straight...even if most of it happened in the car.
