The Berry Farm

After everyone else loaded up and drove home Thursday night, the surviving party goers made a plan for the rest of our weekend in Cali. Okay...let's be honest...we didn't make the plan until about midnight on Friday...when we should have been trying to sleep (on the most uncomfortable beds in the entire world!).

Before we left for the beach house, we talked about going to Universal Studios or to Knott's Berry Farm. We looked up both places on-line & decided that Carsen would either be too short, too bored or just plain afraid of almost every ride/exhibit/whatever you call it at Universal. There were, however, plenty of rides that the short one could ride at (as he called it) the berry farm.
So...after another night with little to no sleep, we woke up & started to load the mom-mobile with all the crap we had lugged to the beach house again this year. Mike was doing a great job loading the vehicle when we realized the one & only key was missing. Richelle (like an idiot) gave Derek the only key we had to the vehicle to get something out if it. I heard her tell him no to lose it because it was our only key. She told him to put it in his pocket when he was done & bring it directly back to her. About an hour or 2 passed...then the key was no where to be found. After we all looked for nearly an hour, Mike found the key. He then RELOADED the vehicle & we were off to find the berry farm.

We got a late start & arrived at Knott's around 4:30. Adults were 1/2 price after 4pm...so that was lucky. As soon as we got inside, Derek & Mike headed for the new "Side-winder" roller coaster & Carsen made his way around "Camp Snoopy"...Camp Snoopy is KBF's version of "Toon Town." Everything is designed for kids under the age of 12...it was perfect for the boys.

Derek, Chelle & Mike also went on swings that have a top speed of 55 mph!! Derek was very brave & said he liked it...but the look on his face told a different story!! Richelle said it was okay & they made Mike queasy. :) I unfortunately stayed with Carsen...who threw a fit like I have never seen before. He does NOT understand why he can't go on some of the rides. He doesn't get the whole "you're too little" or "you're too short" excuses. Poor little guy was SO upset!!

We got back to the hotel just before midnight & we were all ready to throw fits!! We were SO tired...& we knew our California vacation was coming to an end.
For Mike...I think his Rodgers family vacations that include sharing a room with strangers that are related to me, an air mattress, and waking up very early to the high pitched "Good Morning Mike!!" from Carsen have come to a rapid end after only a few short days. Do you blame him? At least he didn't say his vacations with me have ended :)
