Happy Birthday to my babies

I LOVE birthdays. It is one of the few things that I inherited from my birth mother.

I completely believe in the "birthday week" idea and really try to make each of my boy's birthday completely memorable with all the bells and whistles.

Three years ago when I found out that I was going to have 2 boys that shared the same birthday, I was pretty disappointed that each would not have their own week, let alone day. Obviously, I didn't have a choice and out shot Jake. Two little boys with one happy birthday.

So in order to celebrate to the fullest extent, the past two days have been non-stop activities.

Friday began with a trip to the Wildlife World Zoo. Carsen had a field trip with his kindergarten class. He and Nana Carlys rode the bus and Jake and I followed in the truck. We loved to see the animals.

The boys were splashed by the white tiger, who was playing in the mud.

They were licked by the giraffes they were feeding.

And we even got to go on a train ride.

Once we got home from the zoo, the bouncer we had ordered for Saturday's party was delivered 20 hours early. What an awesome deal. The boys chose to bounce and eat Chinese food over going to Chuck E. Cheese. {What a blessed day!} Carsen's best friend Brennen had a sleep over at which they had a fire pit and watched a movie.

Saturday morning Carsen and Dad went to T-ball activities and I stayed home with the other birthday boy and prepared for the party. At t-ball they did team photos and had a parade. Anthony was volunteered to make the team's banner about 40 hours before it was due. He still did an amazing job!

This afternoon was the big finale"Pirate Party". We had tons of kids and adults with foam swords & pirate scarves. We jumped in the bouncer, broke the pinata and ate pizza and Nana's awesome cake. We had a crazy, but fun time. Our house now looks like Christmas.

Turns out the birthday brothers don't mind sharing one bit.

Man I sure do love my cute boys! Happy Birthday Carsen and Jake!

I can't imagine they will ever have reason to be jealous of sharing a birthday if it is as awesome as all that! Sad we missed it all...send them our love.
