Today was Derek's Baptism day. It is very hard to believe that 8 years has come and gone. My baby isn't my baby anymore.
It was so wonderful. Everything went very smooth. Anthony Baptized his son and although he was nervous, he did a great job. I was so proud of both of them.
Derek was lucky enough to have a lot of special friends and family at the baptism. He was excited to have both sets of grandparents, a great grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, primary teachers and primary friends.
Regina gave an awesome talk on baptism after scaring us to death by getting to the church 12 minutes after the meeting started. (long story, but she was lost without a cell phone and with Carsen) Later Grumpaw gave a good talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost. Then Anth gave Derek a blessing and the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Once the meeting had ended, we all went back to our house for a meal. Thank goodness for Robyn and Bill who left first to head to the house and start the food prep. We had great eats!!! Egg burritos, hash browns, fruit, muffins, coffee cake, croissants, bacon, cream puffs, brownies, cheese cake and several beverages.
The weather was gorgeous while all the adults talked and the kids played. It was a little sad when it all ended, but we were a little tired too.
Even with her broken thumb, Nana Carlys stayed to clean up until the bitter end. Thanks!!!!
A special thanks to Nana Carlys and Grumpaw who have helped me SO much with this event and many others. I love you.
